Maria João Ramos, vice-reitora da Universidade do Porto para a Investigação e Desenvolvimento, vai ser distinguida pela Universidade de Estocolmo.
A primeira portuguesa a receber esta distinção da universidade sueca será homenageada pelo «relevante contributo científico prestado no campo da Proteómica Computacional», área da Bioquímica dedicada ao estudo da estrutura e comportamento das proteínas através de sistemas informáticos, determinante para uma melhor compreensão das funções e aplicações das enzimas.
Maria João Ramos desempenhou durante vários anos o cargo de directora associada do National Foundation for Cancer Research Centre for Computational Drug Discovery da Universidade de Oxford (Inglaterra), onde realizou um pós-doutoramento em Modelação Molecular.
